i got an out-of-the-blue phone call to audition for the (then unknown) Jonas Brothers. never did i think that what i considered to be a summer job would lead to becoming part of a family of best friends - between the 3 brothers, band members and touring crew.
what’s even more unbelievable is God’s grace. how some little idiot (me) could spend the past 8 years traveling the world with the Jo Bros, performing on the grammys with Stevie Wonder, playing with Brad Paisley at the Grand Ole Opry, writing songs and getting to see people who don’t even speak english sing along to them. It’s all for the glory of God and speaks volumes that if God can use someone like me, he can use anybody. Even though the things I just listed are nice accomplishments, the real best parts are the hangs backstage, the long tour bus rides, the epic meals in between rehearsals, etc. I’m beyond grateful to be a part of something so special. I know a lot of fans will come and go - but I’m just happy to be here and work in music at any level. It helps to know that my identity isn’t in my job as a musician, but rather totally complete in Jesus.
Of course, the coolest part of this journey has been meeting my future wife at a karaoke bar in LA, dating for 2 and a half years and getting married last April. As if it couldn’t get any better being married to my best friend, she was then hired to sing backup vocals in the same band. performing with her and the rest of my tour family has been incredible and i’m looking forward to much more - but all the while trying desperately not to forget to live each day in the moment. i’m a little too good at getting ahead of myself, so this is a big concept for me to grasp.
Here’s to taking random opportunities. you never know where they may lead or what may happen tomorrow. enjoy today. thanks for reading.

@ddlovato: Look at this guy… Said he bought every copy they had..!!! Love you @nickjonas, you are the best!!!! 😊

“I don’t have loads of friends. I used to, but then I realized, do any of them actually care? Now i have people who, if I break my leg in the middle of the night, they’ll come to the hospital with me, or they’ll answer the phone at 4am if I need them.”
Hello Alexander give us a small bio about yourself
My name is Alexander DeLeon and I sing for a band called The Cab. I also am an aspiring NBA superstar. (No but really…)
Here are Alexander’s 5 questions:
1) So touring is the best way for bands to get their music out to fans. Back in the days touring was a way to promote a cd while nowadays a cd is made basically to promote a tour. How do you see illegal downloads has affected negatively and positively the industry?
So much has changed and is still currently changing. Obviously I want people to buy my records.. but at the same time I think it’s mostly just important that my music hits as many ears as possible.. no matter how it gets to them. If someone illegally downloads my music to check it out and they fall in love and become fans for life then i win, you know? Sometimes illegal downloading and songs getting passed around actually does a ton for the artist. Same with posts on tumblr, twitter, youtube, Facebook, etc. However, I obviously do believe in supporting and paying for good music. If i like a song, artist, or album I always buy their work to support them. That’s all i can ask of people. If you truly love the stuff and music you hear.. then support it so I can keep making more. I don’t spend or waste my money on music that I don’t love.. and I don’t expect others too. This, of course, is just my opinion.
2) Social media (twitter, Facebook, tumblr) have made it easier for bands to connect with fans in a more personal level. But at the same time everything that happens on tour doesn’t stay on tour anymore. How difficult is it for bands to make SOME fans understand that sometimes a band can’t please everyone? (Meet and greets) etc
Man, sometimes I ask myself this very question. I am the worst person to ask. I always do everything I can to show my appreciation to fans. I have been writing back to EVERY letter even if it takes days or sometimes weeks. I don’t ever say no to meeting anyone. I take fans out to lunch just because. It does sometimes get hard because you can do everything in the world and sometimes some will still feel distant, left out, forgotten, and entitled.. but all you can do as an artist is be yourself and do your best. For the most part fans are incredible and respectful. I am the most thankful person in the world for my fans and I won’t even spend a second of my life complaining about any aspect of them or their behavior. I am who I am thanks to them.
3) If you dated Taylor Swift and then broke up with her. What were her next song be called and what would the chorus be?
I can’t answer this one. hahaha
Side note: Alexander actually is friends with Taylor. Something I didn’t know until later on. Yep i have great foot to mouth skills!
4) Usually people ask which famous band dead or alive would you tour with given the chance. My question is which NEW UNKNOWN band would you like to have on tour with you and why?
They aren’t very unknown anymore.. but like everyone else in the world I am getting WAY into the 1975. Great band.. great vibe… really unique and distinct voice… and an incredible live shows. I think they are going to be one of the biggest acts in the world in the next year or two.
5) Dream producer you would love to work with and why?
My dream producer would have to be Pharrell Williams and The Neptunes. All of their stuff has this underlying funk element which is one of my favorite genres of music. It’s all incredibly smooth. The thing that I love most about them and their work is that they aren’t afraid to take risks and chances. They don’t worry or care about what is on the radio. They just want to make refreshing and fun music. That’s why a lot of their songs don’t really sound dated.. because all of the sounds and ideas are fairly unique. Great examples are “Hella Good” by No Doubt and “Señorita” by Justin Timberlake.
There you have it. The Cab is actually right now in the studio working on a new album so keep your eye/ears open.
P.S. Hey Taylor call me *wink*
